Because we continue to grow as an organization, we are looking for a Mechatronics Engineer. Someone who is involved from the moment a new product is developed. This new product also includes the development of a new machine, and to keep it running properly, your expertise is very important. As a Senior Mechatronics Engineer, you are responsible for designing, developing and implementing control systems. But also for the coherence and interaction between the different machines. You are closely involved in the entire process: from the concept phase to delivery of the machine line.

About the position

• You participate in R&D projects throughout the lifecycle, from launch to production.
• You are a sparring partner for programmers in all phases of the project: from definition to validation phase.
• You research and develop new technology for a wide range of machines within the packaging industry.
• You solve complex problems and debug systems that include hardware and software components, including machine tuning and testing.
• You'll lead and collaborate with Control and Software Engineers to verify and release software, identify and resolve issues, and validate solutions with Operators and Customers.
• You work with a distributed, multidisciplinary team where you proactively share ideas and development results.

Where will you work?

We are Huhtamaki Fiber Technology, the international R&D and product development center and the machine line developer of the major packaging company Huhtamaki. We passionately develop products, processes and machine lines that make it possible to produce sustainable packaging for, among others, the food industry. We have a modern test center, a pilot plant and various other departments under one roof. And it's all about innovation, sustainable innovation! What do we ask of you?

• You have completed at least a higher professional education, preferably in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering, and with a focus on mechatronics or industrial automation.
• You are analytically very strong and have extensive knowledge of complex technical concepts and applications.
• You have at least 5 years of experience in the development of machine controls.
• You have extensive experience with software and E&I engineering.
• You have experience with hydraulics, control and servo technology
• You speak and write Dutch and English fluently.

• As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will be employed directly by us, we like to retain good people.
• Your salary — based on the weight of the job and your experience — is between €61,500 and €82,000 per year based on 40 hours per week, including 8% vacation pay and a 13th month. In addition, you will receive a shift allowance of 26.9%, a travel allowance of 19 cents per kilometer and 27 vacation days + 4 ADV.
• Bonus plan: maximum 7.5% of your annual salary (depending on individual and business performance).
