Huhtamaki Nederland B.V., based in Franeker, is a leading manufacturer of sustainable molded fiber packaging. Since our founding in Leeuwarden in 1907, we have developed into a global specialist in transforming waste paper into functional and environmentally friendly products such as egg cartons, egg trays, cup carriers and protective packaging. With over 150 employees, we strive for quality, flexibility and innovation every day. You will be working for our Technical Department. Your improvements can be technical or related to the work processes within the TD. You report content to the maintenance engineering coordinator and you work with various departments.

Who are we looking for?

To further strengthen our technical service, we are looking for a Maintenance Engineer who, based on his technical knowledge and skills, wants to contribute to the continuous improvement of our machines. Someone who is not afraid to ask questions and take a critical look, is solution-oriented and does not shy away from the unknown.

As a Maintenance Engineer at Huhtamaki Netherlands:

• Develop and implement your maintenance KPIs that make a real difference.

• Analyze and adapt to solutions to complex, recurring failures.

• Define maintenance concepts using RCA-RCM.

• Assess the technical condition of critical installations and draw up improvement plans for this.

• Optimise your maintenance processes, making your ideas the standard.

• Perform your risk analyses on technical installations.

• Collaborate with your team to continuously improve.

Of course, we are mainly looking for a Maintenance Engineer who is a perfect match for us in terms of character, motivation and vision. In addition, our ideal candidate is probably:

• Someone with a completed education in mechanical engineering, business administration or mechanics;

• Familiar with working with technical maintenance programs and having knowledge of FMECA and RCA;

• Experienced with LEAN, possibly supplemented with knowledge of Six Sigma/TPM;

• Excellent in the Dutch language (English is a plus);

• An experienced technician with extensive experience in the manufacturing industry.

Who do you work with and for?

Our technical department is responsible for maintaining and repairing the production equipment at the factory in Franeker. Our team consists of approximately 32 employees, including Technicians, Electrical Engineers and Mechanical Engineers. In addition, we have all-round fault engineers who specialize in maintaining and repairing various types of production machines. The technical service is available 24/7 to remedy any faults in the production equipment.

As a team, we play an important role in the production of Huhtamaki Netherlands. We ensure that everything remains in good condition and that there is no unnecessary downtime.

What do you do during a working day?

• You ensure that all existing machines continue to run optimally and that new machines can be put into operation properly. Here, you are in close contact with your colleagues at Huhtamaki Fiber Technology in Leeuwarden.

• You develop solutions to problems with existing and new production machines and equipment.

• You think ahead: you foresee future problems with machines and switch in time to prevent downtime.

• As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be employed directly by us, we like to retain good people.

• Your salary - based on the weight of the position and your experience - is between €47,000 and €63,000 per year based on 40 hours per week, including 8% vacation allowance and a 13th month;
